Thursday 23 June: Conversation with Healing

Connecting the detached parts, to become whole - or healed. What does that mean in different contexts? Is healing an attitude? - or process? On this third festival day, Keith Hennessy will awaken our bodies and senses with the Activation Session: Dancing magic and politics followed by our everyday soup dinner, weaving into Conversation with Healing with shaman and healer Eirik Myrhaug Partapuoli and artists Kristina Gjems, Luanda Carneiro Jacol and Keith Hennessy, guided by moderator and artist Karmenlara Ely. Robert Steijn will share his latest performance When the moon kisses the sun - a Snake Dance and alchemist and artist Lisa Jeannin will guide us gently into the night on a special gong journey: Journeying with a plant’s soul to the Moon and back while others can sign up for an intimate ritual in a nearby church with Liv Kristin Holmberg in Les Ténèbres - In the Dark Hour.

16.00–18.00 / Foyer
Activation Session: Keith Hennessy, Dancing magic and politics
Research and play, dancing together, in collaboration. Shared experimental practice in the blessings and crises of social relationships in the Covid era aka the war is never over era aka work sucks, I can’t sleep, and white supremacy is everywhere era. Through a range of activities we'll negotiate fake and real healing, touching and not touching, and objects as mediums of exchange and identity. Responding to the new fascisms and the collapse of liberal coherence we will use the workshop as a ritualized political laboratory of care, creativity, and tuning to potential. We’ll explore magic, as in witchcraft, as in working poetically in one world to influence another world.
Objects: Some things will be provided but more are welcome. Bring a blanket or rock or long stick, or several. Bring a scent, or odd piece of trash, or favorite book, or several. Or anything that might be interesting to play with. Something shiny or gay maybe.
Consent: Nothing is required. Everything is optional, especially touch. Respecting difference is prioritized.

Nothing is sure what will happen. Robert enters the stage and asks energies that are bigger than him how he has to move and how he has to speak. His aim is to be truthful to the land, where he performs, and that to be truthful to what is needed at that specific moment, concerning the political situation, the world is in, and concerning the minds of the audience who watches him etc.To prepare himself to this kind of theatre events, he investigated the energy of the snake Oxumare, the cult of Quetzalcoatl, the feathered serpent, allowed himself to become a devotee of Virgin Mary, Our lady of Guadeloupe, while touring. Back in Europe he became interested in European trance traditions as the Dionysian Rites, the Orphic Hymns, Christian mysticism & Alchemy.

Lisa Jeannin - Journeying with a plant’s soul to the Moon and back - a Gong journey
Lisa Jeannin is a practicing alchemist and artist who has brought her alchemical travel-apotechary with her to the festival. We meet under the seven pointed star where her elixirs are hanging in planetary order. You are invited to take a spagyric elixir for inner travel and lie down to journey to the moon and back. Lisa will play on her gongs. One is tuned to the sidereal moon and the other is tuned to the asteroid Chiron, the wounded healer. Welcome to a healing relaxing inner journey.

Evening into night / Paulus Church / one-on-one
Performance: Liv Kristin Holmberg Les Ténèbres - In the Dark Hour*
It is a ritual for meeting the darkness, Les Ténèbres: a meeting with oneself.
The title is taken from the ninth section of Olivier Messiaen's final work for organ, Le Livre du Saint -Sacrament (The Book of the Holy Sacrament), which provides the basis of the musical content. The performance is philosophically grounded in Heidegger's concept of being- towards-death, where an encounter with one's own fear and pain can be thought of as an opening of recognition; an opportunity to become real, to become ourselves.
