Welcome to a new season at Black Box teater!

Below you find an overview of the Spring program with a brief introduction from theater director Anne-Cécile Sibué-Birkeland. Thursday 19th of January we invite you to the seasonal opening and presentation and hope you save the date! More information about each production coming in January.

We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and welcome back in 2017!

It is a great excitement to share with you our Spring 2017 season – my first program as artistic director of Black Box teater.
This season takes the first steps towards approaches we will explore further in the future: creating connections and conjunctions between different works, generating echoes with other fields, challenging our relationship to space, time and duration through practices, interactions and formats.
The artistic program is at the core of these approaches. It navigates between the past, the present and the future, and creates dialogue between the local and the international, and between history, personal stories and collective experiences.
During the coming season, we’ll experiment with new formats: a 72-hour durational event, a weekend for adults and kids, a one-and-only evening to discover multiple pieces by the same artists.
Oslo Internasjonale Teaterfestival is the pulsing heart of our spring season. Concentrated over ten days in March, the emphasis is on multifaceted artists who grasp how we as human beings are sensitive to our environment in a changing world. They bring guts and glory, ambiguity, vulnerability and sensitivity to their work.
It is a joy to introduce new artists who will be making their debut in Norway or in Oslo. And it feels right to continue faithful collaborations with artists who already have a strong relationship with Black Box teater. This on-going dialogue with the audience is precious.
Until soon! Looking forward.
