Dandizettes is a solo by Ida Wigdel, made in collaboration with costume, set and lighting designer Chrisander Brun and composer Ådne Meisfjord (120 Days, Serena Maneesh) and artistic caretaker Ludvig Daae.

A dandizette is a bloodthirsty being who embraces the idea of belief in the self without hesitation or with any risk in mind. The term originates from a movement born in the 1660s in London when women gained access to professional careers in literature, architecture and the performing arts. Therefore, they also got access to bars on an equal footing with men. They expressed themselves politically, through eccentric and flamboyant behavior and clothing style, often late at night with substantial amounts of alcohol.

By 2020, thousands of bars were closing. In the performance Dandizettes the audience can experience Wigdels physical reflections over her own chaotic bar being.

Ida Wigdel is a Norwegian choreographer and dance artist. The choreographer and dancer in her cannot be separated, and she has a strong belief in the synergy between her collaborative partners and the audience. Her expression is characterized by complex physicality and strange absurdities with elements of darkness.
