“Breathtaking view of our times on exposure” SvD Kultur
Spotted er en danseforestilling for to dansere som hører til i forestillingsserien Blind Spotting Performance series av den islandske koreografen Margrét Sara Guðjónsdóttir. Serien inneholder også en soloforestiling som heter In the Blind Spot, og en forestilling for 8 dansere med tittelen Blind Spotting. En heldig bivirkning ved serieformatet er at forestillingene næres av hverandre, samtidig som danserne får anledning til å fordype seg i det fysiske formspråket som blir skapt i prosessen.
Målet med serien var å løfte frem antihelten og dens sårbarhet. Dette er en skikkelse som sjelden vises i samtidsdansen. Den sårbare antihelten er et resultat av konkurransementaliteten og resultatorienteringen som preger vår tid. Hos Brech var fremmedgjøring et dramaturgisk strategi. I vår tid er fremmedgjøring en overlevelsesstrategi. Guðjónsdóttir har med denne serien truffet en nerve i den kollektive bevisstheten der hun lar danserne bevege seg i et saktegående sfære som er vakker og angstfylt på samme tid.
