Dance Information Norway invites to a “Dance Talks” session entitled Conceptual shapeshift? in collaboration with Black Box Theatre.
More and more art institutions and stages are opening up to and focusing on dance, especially conceptual dance. What socio-cultural and aesthetic changes lie beneath this? Is a more intellectually stimulating dance, with less body and movement, easier to sell and cheaper to run, or does the turn meet a demand from the audience? At the same time there has been a shift over the past few years towards a more visually oriented language also in the Norwegian contemporary dance. What are the consequences, for whom?
