Electrically Charged Dance Art that Unites Club Culture and Choreography
UNARMOURED has made waves across Europe, and now it’s finally coming to Oslo. This work fuses queer club aesthetics and choreography into an explosive blend – charged with erotic energy.
On stage, we meet Furey herself and three performers, in expressions brimming with raw sensuality, strong presence, and physical intensity. There are no gender markers or social masks here – just open bodies in motion, engaged in a collective exploration of desire, lust, and identity.
The experience is intense and physical. Movements swing between the raw and animalistic, the dreamy and tender. The performance evokes the floating first seconds of a “trip” – a state that is shared with the audience. The stage is transformed into a living being: electric, steamy, and constantly in motion.
The work follows in the footsteps of Furey’s earlier pieces, such as Cosmic Love and Dog Rising. All are existential experiments where movement and sound merge to unleash emotional waves.
The pulsating soundscape is created by Tomas Furey (Twin Rising), with deep bass, dark techno rhythms, and vocal fragments that swirl through the space. The sound acts as scenography, co-performer, and heartbeat. It becomes more than something you hear – you feel it in your body.
UNARMOURED is an intense, embodied manifesto – a celebration of presence and desire, beyond norms and expectations. It reclaims pleasure in a time marked by distance and cynicism.
● Clara Furey is a dancer, choreographer, musician, and actor, considered one of the most exciting voices on Canada’s contemporary art scene today. Her queer signature is sensual, unpredictable – and utterly irresistible.
On Friday night, the evening continues in the Black Box theatre foyer – with a DJ, shadowy beats, and dancing.
