Øy / Janne Eraker & Kristoffer Lislegaard
Live – Album launch party + concert performance

22. november 2024 ❶ Premiere

20:00, Store scene

What happens when you plug a tap dancer into a computer?

The duo Øy releases their first album and celebrates with a concert performance at Store scene. The album called Live consists of recordings from concerts in Oslo, Fredrikstad, Hammerfest and the Netherlands, including a concert performed during ++ at Black Box teater in the spring of 2023. This album release and concert performance will be a unique, improvised concert containing visual elements, and playing further on different staging from previous concerts in different formats.

Øy’s musical expression ranges from dreamy, mysterious and cinematic, via clubby, groovy and danceable to intense and noisy. Eraker and Lislegaard are concerned with creating music that gives the listener images in their heads, offering a sound world to dream away in. The sound from Eraker’s tap dance is sent into the electronics and used to control Lislegaard's electronic instruments. The result is a two-way communication where the dancer and the musician react to one another’s contributions.

Janne Eraker is something as rare as a full-time tap dancer, with a background in modern dance and contemporary dance. Eraker often finds herself in the borderland between performing arts and music, and carries out groundbreaking work in both directions. She tap dances in several bands, such as the trio One Small Step (minimal music, jazz, Norwegian folk music), the duo Øy (electronic music) and the duo Lamborghini (noise). Kristoffer Lislegaard is an experimental electronic musician, composer and producer. He combines genres such as ambient, noise, post-rock and club music and has for many years created, performed and released music as a solo artist, as well as in various duo and ensemble formats.

After the concert performance, there will be a party in the bar where you can buy the vinyl of the brand new album and chat with Janne and Kristoffer. Perhaps there will even be opportunities to try out the set-up?

There will be a surprise program in the foyer before the concert and a party in the bar afterwards!
