Film screening: BPM (Beats per Minute) by Robin Campillo (2018)

I samarbeid med VEGA SCENE og arthaus har vi gleden av å invitere til filmvisning av Robin Campillos 120 slag i minuttet (2018).

Kunstneren Corentin JMP Leven har valgt filmen i forbindelse med forestillingen hans +-, som vises på Black Box teater i februar. Før visningen vil Corentin JMP Leven ønske alle velkommen og si noen ord om hans forhold til filmen.

120 slag i minuttet følger aktivistgruppen ACT UP i Paris på tidlig nittitallet, en gruppe som tar kampen for hivsmittede og aidssyke. Vi trer midt inn i en politisk og personlig kamp som bokstavelig talt handler om liv og død. 120 slag i minuttet har vunnet Grand Prix, Filmkritikerprisen og Queer-palmen.

«120 BPM depicts the AIDS crisis within a European context, the story is told by an actor of change, his own experience through loss, anger and militancy. This film presents a rare opportunity to connect back with the European side of queer history. While originating from America, Act Up France fought for the rights, the visibility and the social/medical awareness, in Europe. 120 BPM is for all of us, a chance to understand the strength of the community, a way to face the collective memory and redefine our idols.»
