Black Box teater Publication 5
Publication 5 was launched in August 2020. In this edition, we have collected two books in one!
The first part of the book offers texts and illustrations by authors, performing artists and visual artists reflecting on themes in our artistic program or their own work. The common thread through the four contributions is that they are all about which bodies are in space, about presence and isolation, and about the relationship between man and nature.
The second part is dedicated to artistic freedom. Oslo Internasjonale Teaterfestival 2020 was part of FRI KUNST, a network on artistic freedom of expression initiated by Safemuse. In this connection, we interviewed the artists who were part of the festival about what artistic freedom means to them. The result is a total of sixteen interviews that show a broad and multifaceted picture of what artistic freedom can be and how it is challenged. We want to let even more voices speak, and are therefore very pleased to also present an essay by the Iranian-born poet, journalist and human rights activist Asieh Amini.
